So, I've had a busy couple of months. First off, I got engaged! :-) Second, we set the date for this june-thus I've been running around trying to plan a wedding within a 6 month time frame. It's been hectic. The main thing that keeps popping up in my planning is cost. Everything dealing with a wedding costs about 3x what you think it would. My miniscule budget got blown away the moment we started booking venues. Le sigh.
I was hoping for a simple wedding, easy reception, and lots of fun. The wedding I was basically gonna elope and the reception I was gonna treat like a large larp group gathering--rent a park pavillion and bbq. That got veto-ed .
Two things we've learned from this experience: when family gets involved in your wedding planning, the stress level increases; you're not going to get what you want in the price you want.
And on a side note: it is impossible to find the colored wedding dress. I went thru a custom seamstress-thus the price went up :-P
